Fragrance ingredients are considered to be among the most commonly allergenic product ingredients, hence for many years fragrance compositions have been under special scrutiny by those who carry out product safety analysis. The ability to calculate allowable concentration ranges for individual fragrance ingredients allows for subsequent correct labelling of the product (listing on the label allergens that exceed the allowable concentrations in rinse-off and non-rinse-off products).
